Altamont - Mrs. June Marie Manning, 90, passed away Thursday December 27, 2012. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Altamont. She lived in Rossville, Georgia with her husband Benny Manning most of her life and returned to Altamont after his death. She was born in Altamont on June 1, 1922 to Ame and Sallie Givens Dickerson who preceded her in death along with her brothers, Henry and Billy P. Dickerson; sisters, Billie Jean Dickerson, Millie Stone, Nell Gattis, Marzie Childers and Nettie Lockhart. She is survived by her step-daughters, Sue (Jack) Shelton of Chattanooga and Joyce Hixson of Atlanta; grand-daughter, Skye; sisters, Frieda McKnight and Marguerite Childers; brother, John (Thelma) Dickerson; a host of loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Joe D. Gray officiating with burial to follow in the Altamont Cemetery.
