Obituary of Ralph M. Lappin

Coalmont - Mr. Ralph M. Lappin, Sr., 90, passed away Friday, June 25, 2010 at his home with his family close. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII and a Elder at the Coalmont Church of Christ. He worked on the Grundy County Highway Department for 42 years as a Road Grader Operator. He was born in Coalmont on March 30, 1920 to Harmon and Novella Aylor Lappin who preceded him in death along with his sisters, Iris (Jimmy) Curtis and Edna Lappin; brothers, Thurman and William Richard "Bill" Lappin. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Mrs. Nell B. Sartain Lappin; daughters, Debbie (Bill) Scissom, Janet (the late Rudy) Johnson and Anita (Keith ) Brewer; sons, Gary (Lindy) Lappin and Ralph (Sandy) Lappin, Jr.; brother, Herman (Artie) Lappin; sister-in-law, Helen Lappin; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Monday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Ray Winton and Rusty Hargis officiating with burial to follow in the Coalmont Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation: 4:00 PM till 9:00 PM Sunday at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, TN.
