Obituary of Vernon Dwight Hartwell

Palmer, Tennessee – Mr. Vernon Dwight Hartwell, 88, of San Diego, California, died there Wednesday February 26, 2020.  He was born in Marshall Town, Iowa on December 8, 1931 to Russell Vernon Hartwell and Cleta Ione Beck Hartwell who preceded him in death along with his wife and mother of his children Jessie Ruth Sissom Hartwell.

He was a US Army and US Navy Veteran and a Member of the Masonic Lodge #35 San Diego and the Scottish Rite Valley of San Diego.  He was a retired Wholesale Liquor Salesman with Bohenina Distributing.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Hartwell; daughters, Rosemary Hartwell Chavez, San Diego, CA and Sherry Bausch, CA; son, Tim Hartwell, Arizona; grandchildren, Christina, Jessica, Tina, Crystal, Christopher, Lindsey and Kenny; 9 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday October 6, 2020 in the funeral home chapel with The Sewanee Lodge #405 presenting Masonic Rites with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemetery with Military Honors.

Visitation: 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Tuesday October 6, 2020.
