Obituary of Claud Everett Smith

Gruetli-Laager, Tennessee – Mr. Claud Everett Smith, 77, passed away Friday September 25, 2020 at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  He was born in Palmer, Tennessee on February 24, 1943 to Elmer Smith and Gladys Blaylock Smith who preceded him in death along with his wife, Treva Keener Smith; daughter, Carol Smith; son, Raymond Troglin; grandson, Casey Troglin; brother, Johnny Smith; sisters, Cindy Prater, Charlotte Christian, Nancy Knight, Jessie Bouldin, Sally Nolan and Judy Brock.

He was a Deacon, Trustee and Adult Sunday School teacher at the Faith Missionary Church in Gruetli-Laager.

He is survived by his sons, Stacey (Carolyn) Smith and Jerry (Stephanie) Troglin; grandchildren, Amy Troglin McPherson, Jonathan and Noah Smith, Jason Troglin, Megan and Matthew McGlothen; great grandchildren, Cheyenne McPherson, Jake, Silas and Zachary Troglin; several loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers, Ricky Higdon and Lanny Tate officiating with burial to follow in the Brady Keener Family Cemetery at Brockdale.  Visitation 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM Monday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee www.laynefuneralhome.com
