Obituary of Robert Lavaughn Reeves

Gruetli-Laager, Tennessee – Mr. Robert Lavaughn Reeves, 85, passed away Wednesday November 25, 2020 at his home.  He was born in Trenton, Georgia on April 15, 1935 to Robert and Viola West Reeves who preceded him in death along with his son, Curtis Reeves; granddaughter, Brandy Scott; sisters, Glenda Reeves and Louise Williams; brothers, Calvin and Edward Reeves.

He was retired from Rock-Tenn Paper Mill after 43 years and 9 months of service.  He was a member of the Gruetli Church of God and the Gruetli-Laager Senior Center.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Blevins Reeves; sons, Morris (Natalie) Reeves, Dana (Regina) Reeves and Jack Reeves; daughter, Lavona (Steve) Parson; brother, Leo Reeves; sisters, Lenda (Larry) Clark, Roberta (Sam) Sellers, Cleo Smith and Shirleen (Denver) Bryson; grandchildren, Cody Cookston and Mackenzie Reeves; great granddaughter, Katie Lester; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Herb Ward officiating with burial to follow in the Swiss Colony Cemetery. Visitation 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Friday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
