Obituary of Tommy Layman

Palmer, Tennessee – Mr. Tommy Layman Jr., 71, passed away Thursday December 31, 2020 at the Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

He was born in Palmer, Tennessee on October 29, 1949 to Tommy Leon Layman and Dorothy Irene Pryor Layman who preceded him in death along with his wife Molly O. Layman; granddaughter,Tosha O’Day Nolan.

He was a coalminer and auto mechanic.

He is survived by his wife, Lou Ann Layman; daughters, Cindy (Micky) Stephenson, Melissa (Stephen) Whitman and Kim (Brian) Price; stepchildren, Carrie Gentry, Chris and David Scoggins; brothers, J.J. (Sheila) Layman and Bo Layman; sisters, Irene Turner, Lorene Sweeton and Doris Layman; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 8 step grandchildren; 10 step great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers, Brett Meeks and Daniel Crabtree officiating with burial to follow in the Browns Chapel Cemetery. Visitation 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM Saturday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
