Obituary of Gladys Allene Ross

Gruetli-Laager, Tennessee – Mrs. Gladys Allene Ross, 83, died peacefully at her home Sunday January 3, 2021.  She was born in Altamont, Tennessee on April 22, 1937 to Arnold Eugene Tate and Mary Lou Fults Tate who preceded her in death along with her husband, John C. Ross;  son, Dwayne Meeks; sister, Frances Novella “Topsy” Whitman; brother, Robert Franklin Tate.

 

She was a retired pharmacy technician and she attended the Laager Baptist Church.

 

She is survived by her son, Tim (Katie) Meeks, Oak Park, Michigan; daughter, Cheryl Lynn Meeks, Palmer; daughter-in-law, Pam Meeks; sister, Judy Ann Boren, Altamont; grandchildren, Rebecca (Rickey), Sarah (David), Brittany (Travis), Jared (Monica), Ethan, Tiffany, Roderick, Jase, Logan and Willow; great grandchildren, McKenna, Abby, Paul Allen, Westyn, Jaxsyn, Koltyn, Arabella, Elizabeth, Dwayne and Milo; great great granddaughter, Allie; several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Cary Gomer officiating with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemetery. Visitation 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM Tuesday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
