 Lebanon, Tennessee – Rev. William Kinnard “Kenny” Layne, 83, passed away Wednesday January 6, 2021 at the Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital in Lebanon, Tennessee.  He was born in Beersheba Springs, Tennessee on September 10, 1937 to Rev. Daniel Leander Layne an Hazel Ann Tate Layne who preceded him in death along with his brothers, Daniel V., Eugene “Rocky” and Ulys Layne; sisters, Sandra Del Valle, Noami Ruth Nunley, Denise Hamilton and Syd Church.

 

He was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Lebanon.  He Pastored several churches over the years and was well known for his Gospel Singing.  He was also a carpenter.

 

He is survived by his wife, Norma Doepel Layne; sons, Kenny Bill (Renee) Layne, Dale Lee (Winna) Layne, Jay (Barbara) Murdock, Barry Wallace and Steven McClain; daughters, Melody Layne Dillon and Laura Jo (Jeff) Farries; sisters, Niki Nunley, Judy Myers and Connie Tate; 19 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Rodney Haskins officiating with burial to follow in the Fall Creek Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM Saturday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
