Obituary of Jimmy Troy Underhill Jr.

Beersheba Springs, Tennessee – Mr. Jimmy Troy “Pup” Underhill Jr., 74, died peacefully Monday January 25, 2021 at the Legacy Skilled Care Nursing Home in Manchester, Tennessee. He was born in McMinnville, Tennessee on November 14, 1946 to Jimmy Troy Underhill Sr. and Ruby Mae King Underhill who preceded him in death along with his sister, Ruby Fay Underhill.

He was a retired skidder driver for Smartt Logging and attended Cumberland Baptist and Panhandle Baptist Church up until his health declined.

He is survived by his sons, Jeff (Velina) Underhill, Jimmy Darin (Angie) Underhill and Bryan Doyle Underhill; daughter, Ginger (Michael) Forsyth; grandchildren, Candice (Jamie) King, Michael Joe Forsyth, Lakin (Jason) Childers, Desiree (Tim) Knight, Jeffery, Tabitha, Javyn and Tyler Underhill; several great grandchildren; special friends, Houston and Barbara Smartt.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at the Cumberland Baptist Church with Minister Alton Scruggs officiating with burial to follow in the Hunerwadel Cemetery. Visitation: 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM Tuesday at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, Tennessee and 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM Wednesday at the Church.
