Obituary of John Truman Blevins
Altamont, Tennessee – Mr. John Truman Blevins, 82, passed away Wednesday February 10, 2021 at the STRHS-Winchester Hospital. He was born in Jamestown, Tennessee on August 19, 1938 to Ike Blevins Sr and Mertie Conatser Blevins who preceded him in death along with his brother, Ike Blevins, Jr; sisters, Doris Livingston, Sue Threat and Eva Jo Taulbert.
He was a member of the Sweeton Hill Methodist Church, The Alhambra Shrine, The Scottish Rite Bodies of Chattanooga and Sewanee Lodge #405 F&AM. He was owner of Blevins Enterprises, Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Pemberton Blevins; son, John Bradley Blevins; daughters, Wanda (Joseph) Keylon and Melanie L. (Carl Bruce) Hunt; brother, Fred Ray “Butch” (Jo) Blevins; grandchildren, Zack (Alicia) Blevins, Brad (Jamie) Hunt and Jennifer Hunt; great grandchildren, Mahaylee, John Maxon and Allison Taylor; a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday in the funeral home chapel with Minister John Potts officiating with burial to follow in the Browns Chapel Cemetery. Visitation 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM Thursday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
