Obituary of Horace Ray Slatton

Palmer, Tennessee – Mr. Horace Ray Slatton, 77, passed away Thursday March 18, 2021 at his home in Rockwood, Tennessee.  He was born in Palmer, Tennessee on August 23, 1943 to Huke Slatton and Bertha Kilgore Slatton who preceded him in death along with his daughter, Teresa Ann White; sisters, Norna Mae Campbell, Rachel Griffith, Elsie Slatton, Dorothy Higgins, and Margie Smith; brothers, Everett, Billy Curg, Johnny, Wallace and Franklin Slatton.

He was a member of the Gospel Trumpet Holiness Church in Rockwood, Tennessee.  Horace had been and poultry grower, nurseryman and carpenter most of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Zella Fults Slatton; son, Charles (Melissa) Slatton; brother, R.B. (Carolyn) Slatton; grandchildren, Nathanael, Isabella, Elisha (Zoey), Jaqueline (Levi) and Elizabeth; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday in the funeral Home chapel with Ministers Charles Slatton and David Howell officiating with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemetery. Visitation 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM Saturday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
