Obituary of Wallace Alton Tate

Coalmont, Tennessee – Mr. Wallace Alton Tate Sr., 91, passed away Saturday March 20, 2021 at his home with his family at his bedside.  He was born in Palmer, Tennessee on December 2, 1929 to Will and Della Mae Smith Tate who preceded him in death along with his daughter, Lynda Darlene Tate Earls; sons, Mark Anthony Tate Sr and Wallace Alton Tate Jr.; sister, Lorene Scissom; brothers, Alfred, Arthur and Woodrow Tate.

 

Alton was a US Amry veteran and a retired truck driver for Mason-Dixon Trucking.

 

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Elizabeth Sledge Tate; daughter, Tammy E. Tate; grandchildren, Sabrina Little, Gene Little, Chris Parris and Dakota Tate; great grandchildren, Tristan and Shelby Little, Elizabeth, Cannan and Anna Parris; great great grandchildren, Kayden, Kynsleigh, Kason, Eva and Nova; several nieces and nephews.

 

A memorial service will be 4:00 PM Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Plainview Church in Tracy City, TN.
