Obituary of Rachel Louise Scott

Altamont, Tennessee – Mrs. Rachel Louise Scott, 76, passed away Friday April 2, 2021 at the Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester, Tennessee.  She was born in  McMinnville, Tennessee on January 16, 1945 to Ace Higgins and Stella Irene Schiesser Higgins who preceded her in death.

 

Rachel was a member of the Church of Christ at Altamont and was retired from  the US Postal Service.  She served as Postmaster at Viola before her retirement and had worked at other Post Offices over the years.

 

She is survived by her husband, Abidine Scott; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Walter Bishop of Manchester; grandchildren, Kelcie Fearing, Lyndsey Wells and Mills (Summer) Bishop IV; great grandson, Keith Wells.

 

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Gary Childers officiating with burial to follow in the Swiss Colony Cemetery.
