Obituary of James Alton Sweeton

Coalmont, Tennessee – Mr. James Alton Sweeton, 79, passed away Wednesday April 7, 2021 at his home with his family at his bedside.  He was born in Coalmont, Tennessee on March 23, 1942 to Lawrence and Margie Burnett Sweeton who preceded him in death along with his brothers, Raymond, Harvey, Richard and Willard Sweeton; sisters, Geraldine Scott, Melba Sweeton and Wilma Sue Woodlee.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Borne Sweeton; son, James Allen Sweeton; daughters, Vanessa (Harold) Tate and Crystal (Brent) Campbell; sisters, Mable (Ronnie) Scissom and Lena Mae (Lewis) Brown; grandchildren, Dustin (Libby) Tate, Jennifer (Bryce) Williams, Shelley (Allen) Campbell; great grandchildren, Malia Rose Williams, Hunter and Gunner Tate; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday at the Coalmont Cemetery with Minister Terry Winton officiating.
