Obituary of Nina Tanner Machen
South Pittsburg, Tennessee – Mrs. Nina Christa Tanner Machen, 87, passed away Tuesday April 27, 2021 in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. She was born in Hollywood, Alabama on October 9, 1933 to Jesse Christa and Florence Miles Christa who preceded her in death along with her husband, Kenneth Eugene Tanner; 2nd husband, James Machen; brothers, James, Robert and Virgil Christa; sisters, Beulah Jacobs, Nanny Tate and Eileen Garner.
Nina was a clerk at Pittman Drug and later The Drug Store in South Pittsburg, Tennessee. She moved to East Ridge, Tennessee to be closer to her daughters after her health declined.
She is survived by her daughters, Kim (Greg) Carden and Karen (Jeff) Clay; sisters, Rena Derrick and Lucy Sargent; 4 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM CDT Friday April 30, 2021 at the Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Kimball, Tennessee with Minister Bill Owens officiating.
