Obituary of Murphy Nunley

Altamont, Tennessee – Mr. Murphy Nunley, 43, passed away Sunday May 2, 2021 at his home.  He was born in Coalmont, Tennessee on March 16, 1978.

He was a corrections officer with the Grundy County Jail until his health declined. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Nunley; grandfather, Taylor Nunley; niece, Hannah Norris.

He is survived by his mother, Patricia Curtis Nunley; sisters, Chastity (Charlie) Nunley and Felicia (Tony) Bean; grandparents, Brenda Wise Sparks, George Curtis and Frances Nunley; aunt, Tania Curtis (Martin Layne); nephews, Destin (Julie) Nunley and Braxton Norris; nieces, Lindsey (Cody) King and Paige (Ryan) Brymer.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Clayton Jones officiating with burial to follow in the Bonny Oaks Cemetery. Visitation 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM Monday at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
