Billie Marie Jones Weddington Cantrell

Billie Marie Jones Weddington Cantrell of McMinnville passed from this life on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at NHC Nursing Facility in McMinnville with her son by her bedside following a lengthy illness.

Billie was the fourth child born to Wesley Brown Jones and Maudie Earline Jaco Jones on Wednesday, June 16, 1943. She was the only one of her siblings born in Santa Monica, California during the short time her family had left Warren County and her father was working for Douglas Aircraft during World War II.

In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by nephew Ransom Eugene Jones and the father of her children and love of her life John Roy Weddington Sr.

During her life Billie was a devoted Christian, homemaker, mother, sister, aunt and “Kissy Nana”.

Survivors include her children; John Roy Jr and (Mary) Weddington, Paul Wesley (Jennifer) Weddington. Grandchildren; Nyoka Desimae (Frank) Jefferson, Josephine Austina Weddington, Damaris Gabrielle (Dru) Kaegi, Cassie Michaela Spitzer, Kenzie Marie Weddington, and JonPaul Wesley Weddington.

Great grandchildren; Andera Rosalyn Jefferson, Drake Ryan Jefferson, Carter Rain Jefferson, Savannah Raylyn Jefferson, William Joshua Tuttle Jr, and Tuesday Gwyneth Jean Kaegi.

Siblings; John Ransom (Joyce) Jones, Ruth Lee “Midge” (Donald) Patterson, Shirley Hampton (Delores) Jones, Charles Hugh Jones, Wesley Eugene (Ann) Jones and Clinton Ray Jones.

Several nieces and nephews also survive.

We would like to thank NHC nurses and staff for the wonderful care, compassion, and kindness that they showed our Mother through her illness.

Serving as pall bearers will be Ray Patterson, David Patterson, Terry Patterson, Monty Jones, Randy Craven, Larry York and David Bratcher.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 5 from 4pm – 8pm and again on Thursday until time of the service at Grace Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church 594 Short Mountain Road in McMinnville, TN. Funeral services will be held at the church on Thursday, May 6 at 3:00pm with Nathan Jones and Anthony Wanamaker officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Garden of Memory Cemetery in Morrison, TN.
