Obituary of Floyd Burton Jones
Palmer, Tennessee – Mr. Floyd Burton Jones, 81, passed away Thursday July 22, 2021 at his home with his family at his bedside. He was born in Helena, Arkansas on March 3, 1940 to Jack Jones and Margaret Simpson Jones Dishroon who preceded him in death along with his great granddaughter, Kollins Cleek; brother, Larry Jones; sisters, Margaret Ann Hopper and Linda Christian.
He was a retired Iron Worker and was a member of the Iron Workers Local 704 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Shrum Jones, sons, Johnny and Jeff Jones; brothers, Roy Wayne (Loretta) Jones, L.J. Jones and Loyd Wayne Jones; sisters, Lola (Tim) Cox and Denna (Greg) Farrell; grandchildren, Laci (Jeremy) Boyd and Keon (Dakota) Cleek; great grandchildren, Madison, Maci, Maddox, Kravin and Cyrus; special caregiver and niece, Kim Summers; special nephew, Ricky Summers; a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers, Jonathan Graham, Cary Gomer and John Potts officiating with burial to follow in the Palmer City Cemetery.
Visitation 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM Saturday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee.
