Obituary of Roy Lee Birdwell

Gruetli-Laager, Tennessee – Mr. Roy Lee Birdwell, 75, passed away Wednesday September 1, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born in Palmer, Tennessee on May 29, 1946 to Mose and Almeta Stocker Birdwell who preceded him in death along with his son, Billy Winton.

 

He was a self-employed welder, farmer, US Navy Veteran and member of the Church of Christ at Gruetli-Laager.

 

He is survived by his wife, Pat Meeks Birdwell; sons, Bobby (Melissa) Winton, Terry (Judy) Winton, Mike Birdwell and Eddie (Melissa) Birdwell; sister, Betty Delius; a herd of grandchildren and a flock of great grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday in the funeral home chapel with Minsiter Eddie Birdwell and Nick Gipson officiating with burial to follow in the Fall Creek Cemetery with military honors provided by the US Navy.

 

Visitation: 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM Thursday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee.
