Obituary of Dorothy Lee Smith

Altamont, Tennessee – Mrs. Dorothy Lee Smith, 80, passed away Thursday October 7, 2021, at the Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  She was born in Memphis, Tennessee on January 9, 1941, to Clarence Edward Davis and Atha Bell Sims Davis who preceded her in death along with her husband Franklin Leroy Smith; brothers, Jessie and Lewis Davis.

She is survived by her sons, Joseph Skelton and Franklin Smith II; daughters, Lisa Marie Skelton and Shelia Skelton; sisters, Betty Johnson, Joan Bolton, Barbara David and Janet Hood; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow in the Altamont Cemetery.

Visitation: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM Sunday at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, Tennessee.
