Obituary of Dorothy Arlene Layne

Gruetli-Laager, Tennessee – Mrs. Dorothy Arlene Layne, 65, passed away Monday October 11, 2021 at her home with her family at her bedside.  She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on September 8, 1956 to Louis Waymond Mainord and Etheleen Schieser Mainord who preceded her in death along with her brothers, Charles and Corky Mainord; sister, Margaret Stubblefield.

She was residential director for Exceptional Enterprises for 35 years working up until her health declined.

She is survived by her husband, Rex Allen Layne; son, Joshua (Aubrey) Layne, Clifton, Tennessee; grandsons, Robert (Morgan) Layne, Savannah, Tennessee and Rex Alex Layne, Clifton, Tennessee.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow in the Swiss Colony Cemetery.

A private viewing for the immediate family will be held at 3:00 PM all others are welcome to attend the funeral services at 4:00 PM at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee.
