Obituary of Leo Edward Boggess

Monteagle, Tennessee – Mr. Leo Edward Boggess, 80, passed away Tuesday December 7, 2021, at the home of his son in Rossville, Georgia.

He was born in Lansing, Michigan on May 5, 1941, to Cecil Woodrow Boggess and Fay Mahan Boggess who preceded him in death along with his brother William Cecil “Sonny” Boggess.

Leo worked as a mining equipment repairman and had an ability to fix about anything. He built 3 homes for his family, sold cars and was a collectable knives dealer.

He is survived by his wife, Billie Faye Shrum; daughter, Brenda (James) Koker, Riverside, CA; sons, James E. Boggess, Monteagle, TN and Brandon (Jody) Boggess, Rossville, GA; grandchildren, J.J., Matthew, Justin, Robert, George, Steve and Samantha; great grandchildren, Mathias, Declan, Shia and Haley; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Jonathon Graham officiating with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemetery.

Visitation: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM CST at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee.
