Altamont, Tennessee – Mr. Clayton Gerald Bess, 71, passed away Saturday January 8, 2022, at his home. He was born in McMinnville, Tennessee on September 6, 1950, to Clifford Iola Bess and Therisa Gladys Bess who preceded him in death along with his brothers, Deloria, Douglas and Woodrow Bess.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
He is survived by his sister, Jeweldean Sweeton; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Aaron Barrett officiating with burial to follow in the Altamont Cemetery.
Visitation: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM Monday at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, Tennessee.
