Obituary of Ima Jean Geary

Gruetli-Laager, Tennessee – Mrs. Ima Jean Geary, 86, passed away Tuesday February 1, 2022, at the Sheltering Arms Assisted Living in Palmer, Tennessee. She was born in Palmer, Tennessee on December 10, 1935, to James Shrum and Mary Ellen Tate Shrum who preceded her in death along with her daughter, Jackie Brookman; infant son, Michael Brookman; brothers, James and John Shrum; sisters, Margie Long, Nancy Skeen, Mary Seagroves, Jessie Land and Rose Creighton; special niece, Sue Ann Long.

Ima was a homemaker and had helped her family in the restaurant business and baking. 

She is survived by her husband, Robert Lee “Bob” Geary; daughter, Stephanie (Greg) Ross; granddaughter, Shawna (Chris Davis) Worley; half-sister, Grace (Lindon) Boyd; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Bill Ross, John Potts and John Ross Jones officiating with burial to follow in the Fall Creek Cemetery.

Visitation: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM Thursday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee.
