Obituary of Larry Dale James

Palmer, Tennessee – Mr. Larry Dale James, 75, passed away Friday September 23, 2022, at the Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

He was born in Palmer, Tennessee on April 4, 1947, to Frank Edward James and Georgia Edith Givens James who preceded him in death along with his sister, Judy Ann James

He was a member of the Collins Church and retired from Komatsu. Early in life he worked at TNT in Chattanooga and for Tennessee Consolidated Coal Company.  Larry loved his family, fishing, classic cars, camping and music.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Caldwell James; daughter, Meredith (Tyler) McCullough; son, Dale (Lisa) James; sisters, Francine James and Ruth Brooks; grandchildren, Megan Haynes, Morgan (Austin) Skelton, Kendale and Kayson James; nephews, Jerry (Maria) James and children and Shane (Robin) Colston and children; life long friend, Jim Hargis.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Willie Childers and David VanHorn officiating with burial to follow in the Browns Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation: 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM Monday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee.
