Martha Ruth (McCoy) Mays, June 24, 1938 – November 18, 2022
Born to Martha Jane (Layne) and Arthur David McCoy in Palmer, TN.
Married Jerry Montgomery Mays April 14, 1960 in Columbus, Ohio.
Martha Ruth Mays passed from this life November 18, 2022.

Proceeded in death by her parents, sister Irma Pangelinan, her husband Jerry Mays, grandsons Cassidy

Mays and Brandon Mays.

Ruth (as she was known to family and friends) grew up in Tennessee and West Virgina, where her father
was a coal miner. After graduating in 1956 from Glen Rogers High School, Glen Rogers, West Virginia,
Ruth moved to Cleveland, Ohio with her best friend Wanda for work. Ruth met and married Jerry after a
whirlwind romance on April 14, 1960. They wasted no time starting their family and had six children.
They lived many places across the US until finally settling down in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1975.
Ruth started working for the City of Tulsa in 1975 in the Water Department. She worked her way up to
Purchasing Clerk and retired after 30+ years with the City to care for her husband.

Ruth is survived by:

Siblings: Sister Phyllis Rinehart and brother Arthur David McCoy Jr.

Children: Sons: Monty Mays and wife Tina Fullmer, Mick Mays and wife Cheri, Mark Mays and wife
Kellie, Marlin Mays; Daughters: Shonda Heck and husband James, Shannon Trammell.
Grandchildren: Justin Clark and wife Misty, Jennifer Mays, Madison Bilby and husband Jordan, Cameron
Mays and wife Ashley, Garret Mays and wife Jessica, Kylee Mays, Megan Heck, Alexandra Heck, Amber

Cameron and husband Brad, Bethany Trammell.

Great Grandchildren: Ryan, Cody, Austin, Jace, Bryce, Mackenzie, Hope, Noelle, Christopher, Gunner,

Preston, Montanna, Reign, Layla, Huxon, Abbey, Aiden and Madalyn.

Many more cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed dearly.

A funeral service is planned for Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 10am under the direction of Floral
