Gruetli-Laager, Tennessee - Mrs. Laura Bell Tate passed away peacefully Tuesday December 6, 2022, at the home of her daughter in Tracy City, Tennessee. She was born in Palmer, Tennessee on June 14, 1940, to Franklin Parks Layne Sr. and Dixie Lee Nunley Layne who preceded her in death along with her husband, James Wayne Tate; brothers, Parks Layne, Gene Layne, and two infant brothers; sister, Charlotte Meeks.

She was a member of the Collins Church of Christ. 

She is survived by her children, Shasta (Mike) Nunley and James Michael (Sam) Tate; grandchildren, Dixie and Jaxon Nunley, Bobby Ice, Miranda, Raven, and Damon Tate, Bryant Shadrick; great-grandchildren, Ben, Eli, Willow, Jayden, Hunter, Kree, and Hemi; several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Willie Childers and Philip Fults officiating with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemetery.

Visitation: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM Saturday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee.
