Obituary of Willie Mae Thompson

Palmer, Tennessee – Mrs. Willie Mae Thompson, 74, passed away Sunday February 26, 2023 at the Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  She was born in Palmer, Tennessee to Roy Lee White and Bernice Smith White who preceded her in death along with her husband, James Anthony “Toby” Thompson; son, Christopher Dewayne Thompson; brothers, Roy Lee White Jr., Everett Lee White and David Smith; sister, Nina Faye Layne.

She is survived by her daughter, Angie (Brian) Gibbs; grandchildren, Dustin and Shala Gibbs; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Minister C.J. Gibbs officiating with burial to follow in the Cagle Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Visitation: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM Sunday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee.
