Obituary of James Watson Herrin

Altamont, Tennessee – Mr. James Watson Herrin, 92, passed away Wednesday April 5, 2023, at his home.  He was born in Waycross, Georgia on September 26, 1930, to Zibe K. Herrin and Dallas Orene Dickerson Herrin who preceded him in death along with his wife, Sandra Manus Herrin; son, Robert Byron Herrin; sister, Peggy Herrin; brother, Emuel Herrin; mother of his children, Mary Virginia Swymer Herrin.

He had worked in ship building and industrial construction before his retirement.

He is survived by his daughters, Patricia (Wayne) Harris, Altamont and Genia (Anthony) Gilbreath, Morrison; son, Gregory James Herrin, Apopka, FL; brothers, Jack Herrin, Macintosh County, GA and Ronald Herrin, Waverly, GA; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

His request was to be cremated and his ashes returned to Waycross, Georgia to be reunited with his family.

There will be no services held at this time.
