Obituary of Steven Lewis Shipley

Palmer, Tennessee – Mr. Steven Lewis Shipley, 56, passed away Friday April 28, 2023, at the Hospice Care Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee with his wife of 33 years at his bedside holding his hand.  

He was born in Whitwell, Tennessee on January 23, 1967, to Bradley Lewis Shipley and Charlotte Jean Mabe Shipley who preceded him in death.

Stevie was a carpenter, stucco mason as well as an avid car and motorcycle lover.  He attended the Bivens Chapel Congregational Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbye Summers Shipley; daughters, Sierra (Kevin) Mosher, Seguin, Texas, and Summer (Logan) Meeks, Imperial Beach, California; son, Seth Shipley; grandchildren, Brooklyn Grace and Kenna Rose Mosher; sister, Shara Sha Shipley; half-brothers, Colton and Tyler Shipley; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon Monday in the funeral home chapel with Minister John Ross Jones officiating with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemetery.

Visitation: 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM Sunday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee.
