Obituary of Allie Jean "Shorty" Sanders

PALMER, TN - Mrs. Allie Jean "Shorty" Sanders, 85, passed away Monday, October 15, 2018. She attended Gruetli-Laager Church of God and was a member of the Grundy County Democratic Party and several other clubs and organizations. She was born July 2, 1933 to Paul and Jessie Thompson Worley who preceded her in death along with her husband, James E. "Sham" Sanders; brother, Paul Edward Worley; sister, Helen Nunley; son, James Darrell Sanders; granddaughter, Misti Sanders; grandson, Patrick Sanders; great-granddaughter, Taylor Wockasen.

She is survived by her son, Danny (Betty) Sanders; daughters-in-law, Valerie Sanders and Kathy Brewer; sister, Charlene Roberts; grandchildren, Candy (late Clayton), Holly, Tonya (Tony) and Alex (Christopher); great-grandchildren, Chelsi, Connor, Carson, Aaden, Emma, Lauren, Tyler, Trenton, Stanley and Mattie; great-great-grandchild, Eliza.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Dennis Rollins officiating with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemetery. Visitation: Thursday, October 18, 2018 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Palmer Cemetery or St. Jude's Children Hospital.
