For years, Mr. Lewis and his wife, Oma, saved cans for me.
To my knowledge, he was the last man living who worked at the Palmer Big Mine in the coal mining days. He had a great memory until just a few years ago and talking with him allowed me to preserve a lot of local history that otherwise would have been lost.
My sincere sympathy is extended to his family and friends.
