Obituary of Phyllis Gay Smith

 McMinnville, Tennessee – Mrs. Phyllis Gay Smith, 56, passed away Friday November 16, 2018 at her home.  She was born in McMinnville, Tennessee on August 16, 1962 to Russell Lee Rutledge and Hazel Gladys King Rutledge who preceded her in death along with her brother, Johnny Tellus Rutledge; sisters, Charlotte and Renee Rutledge, Penny Gunter and Diane Roach.

She was of the Church of God faith.

She is survived by her children, Wendy and Dee Ledbetter, Michelle and Bryan Christian, Eugene Smith, Skylar and Jeffery Rogers Clemons, Gabriel Clemons; companion, Steve Clemons; sisters, Joyce Roller and Doris Perry; brothers, Eugene and Russell Rutledge; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Danny Sullivan officiating with burial to follow in the Friendship Cemetery, Campaign, Tennessee. Visitation: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM Wednesday at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
