My sincere condolences to all you. May you find peace and comfort knowing that Raymond is with Doris. Many fond childhood memories made in Gruetli as we were growing up.

Deborah and Jody, My deepest condolences to you and your families. Your dad was always so kind to me --he was such a good blend of his mama and daddy. He lived a long and fruitful life and we are grateful for that. Sincerely, Larry

Seems as if Raymond and Doris were family. Thanks Debra and Jody for sharing them both with us all. So sorry to see Raymond go, for it is an end to an era. I enjoyed that generation more than I can say.
I apologize we didn't get to see you both at the funeral home. You are certainly on our minds and in our hearts.

Deborah and Jody,
I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. Mr. Hargis was a wonderful and sweet man. It seems like I have known your family all my life, having gotten to know you all when I began working with your Mom when I was in high school. Again, I am so sorry for your loss, and may you find comfort in knowing that so many people thought so highly of Mr. Hargis and that he touched so many lives.

It seems that these days we misuse the word 'legend' to describe a lot of well known people, but Mr. Raymond Hargis was truly a Grundy County legend.
In this short space, I can't ever begin to tell you about the many aspects of local life he was involved in. My connection is him being my principal at Palmer School from 1955 to 1958.
Before his health failed, Mr. Hargis called me on a regular basis to talk about old times. For ten years or so, I had the Palmer News on the internet monthly, and mailed him a written copy. He enjoyed it so much.
My sincere sympathy is extended to his family and friends in their loss.

My Dad, Jib Henley thought the world of your dad. I called him several times so he and Dad could talk. We took Daddy to his induction to Grundy Hall Of Fame So Daddy “could visit with my friend.” Daddy broke his hip and passed in September. I bet he is welcoming Mr Hargis and meeting him at the Gate.
I am so sorry for your loss. My heart aches for you because of the loss of your father.
