Obituary of Samuel Jerry Sweeton

 Altamont, Tennessee – Mr. Samuel Jerry Sweeton, 77, passed away Monday December 24, 2018 at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.  He was born in Altamont, Tennessee on December 16, 1941 to Ernest Sweeton and Edith “Tabby” Layne Sweeton who preceded him in death.

He was retired and had worked at Century Electric, Magnetek and A.O. Smith Company for over 40 years before they closed.

He is survived by his wife, Jeweldean Bess Sweeton; daughter, Kay (Greg) Gilliam; sons, Donnie and Ronnie Sweeton; brothers, Jimmy and Jackie Sweeton; sisters, Jewell Gipson, Barbara Jean (Kenneth) Turner, Joyce (Robert) Cawley and Janice Nolan; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Earl David Campbell officiating with burial to follow in the Altamont Cemetery. Visitation: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM Friday at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
