Obituary of Earl Wesley Grimes

 Gruetli-Laager – Mr. Earl Wesley Grimes, 73, passed away Saturday December 29, 2018 at his home with his family at his bedside.  He was born in Gruetli-Laager, Tennessee on June 19, 1945 to Hershcel and Ethel Juanita Vaughn  Grimes who preceded him in death along with his sister, Marjorie Juanita Griffith; brothers, Charles, Lee and infant brother, Carl Ray Grimes.

He was a member of the Laager Methodist Church.  He was a Coalminer and worked at the Grundy Farmers Co-op and for the City of Gruetli-Laager, Tennessee before retiring.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Rogers Grimes; daughter, Tammy Lynn Grimes; son, Michael (Cheryl) Grimes; sisters, Irene (Terry) Campbell, Mary Ellen (Grady) Lemons and Carolyn (Darwin) Shipley; brothers, William (Connie), Benny (Bobby), Joe (Charlotte) and Wayne Grimes; grandchildren, Amelia, Madlyn, Justin and Sydney; 6 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Matthew Meeks officiating with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemetery.  Visitation: 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM Monday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
