Obituary of Louis Leo Watley

 Altamont, Tennessee – Mr. Louis Leo “Buddy” Watley, 75, currently of Morrison, Tennessee passed away Thursday January 24, 2019 at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He was born in Bienville, Louisiana to Louis Lavon Watley and Lucille Keene Watley who preceded him in death along with his son, Kevin L. Watley; sisters, Pearl Mahaffey and Emma Sikes; sons-in-law, Michael Sellars and Roger Miller.

He was a US Army veteran and self-employed truck driver for 40 years and also operated Watley’s Grocery and the 108 Quick Stop in Altamont.

He is survived by his wife, Refa Smith Watley; sons, Keith Watley and Kiel (Sonia) Watley; daughters, Denise (William) Salisbury, Jaquetta (Phillip) Moreland and April Miller; brothers, William Watley and John Wayne Lovett; sister, Mary Black; grandchildren, Bethany (Steve) Henshaw, Amber (Kenneth) Prater, Duncan and Drake Moreland, Andrew and Caleb Watley; great grandchildren, Summer Reeder, Skylar and Kelden Prater, Shelby Sellars and Steven Henshaw.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Victor Hawkins officiating with burial to follow in the Little Johnny Myers Cemetery. Visitation: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM Saturday at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
