Obituary of Robert Bradford Roddy

Coalmont - Mr. Robert Bradford "Bob" Roddy Sr, 81, passed away at his home resting peacefully with his family Tuesday morning December 18, 2012. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, retired from Tennessee Consolidated Coal Company and a member of the Chestnut Springs Congregational Methodist Church. He was the Pastor of several Churches in Grundy County going wherever he was needed. He was born in Sewanee, Tennessee on December 7, 1931. He was preceded in death by his mother Lydia Sue Woodlee Roddy along with his son, Russell Reed Roddy; sisters, Margaret Sue Roddy Lawson and Nancy Carlene Roddy Thomas. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Billie Ruth Gipson Roddy with whom he had 5 children, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday in the funeral home chapel of Foster and Lay Funeral home in Tracy City with Pastor Freddie Savage officiating with burial to follow in the Planview Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard.
