Obituary of Gregory Lee Grimes

 Gruetli-Laager, Tennessee – Mr. Gregory Lee Grimes, 40, passed away Friday May 10, 2019 at his home with his family at his bedside.  He was born in Winchester, Tennessee on October 15, 1978. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Lee Grimes; grandparents, Earlene Shrum, David Shrum, Hershel and Ethel Grimes and Florence Jackson.

He was employed at Lodge Mfg. until his health declined.  He was a member of the Gruetli-Laager Fire Department for 24 years.  He attended Bibleway Holiness Church.  He loved hunting deer, turkey and riding horses.

He is survived by his mother and father, Claudette and James Nolan; brothers, Nathanial (Courtney) Grimes, Timothy Nolan and Orey (Felicia) Nolan; sister-in-law, Bridget Nolan; grandparents, James and Barbara Nolan, Lynda Ruehling Shrum; loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Jeremy Robinson and Don Layne officiating with burial to follow in the Burkett’s Chapel Cemetery.  Visitation: 5:00 PM- 9:00 PM Saturday and 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM Sunday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
