Obituary of Viola Walker

 Palmer, Tennessee – Mrs. Viola Walker, 90, passed away Thursday August 22, 2019 at the NHC Health Care Sequatchie in Dunlap, Tennessee.  She was born in Palmer, Tennessee on July 13, 1929 to William King and Lila Smith King who preceded her in death along with her husband, James Earl Walker; sisters, Rhoda Rankin, Katherine Christian and Ruth Curtis; brothers, Lewis and Elzie King; granddaughter, Tina Vanhoosier.

She was a member of the Barker’s Cove Community Church and had worked at Colonial Shirt Factory in Altamont.

She is survived by her son, George Earl Walker, Dunlap, TN; daughter, Erma Faye (Gary) Nance, Palmer, TN; sister, Davine Griffith, Whitwell, TN; grandchildren, Melissa (Charles) Slatton, George (Velma) Manley, Heath (Alice) Worley and Travis Harvey; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Jamie Pack and Riley Anderson officiating with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemetery.  Visitation: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM Sunday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
