Obituary of Edna Kilgore

  Monteagle, Tennessee – Mrs. Edna Schoenmann Kilgore, 90, passed away Saturday December 14, 2019 at the STRHS Hospital in Winchester, Tennessee.   She was born in Palmer, Tennessee on August 8, 1929 to William Elbert Schoenmann and Minnie Agnes Tate Schoenmann who preceded her in death along with her husband, Billy Jackson Kilgore; sister, Alvenia Luttrell; brothers, Glenn, Charles, Raymond and Ernest Schoenmann.

She was a charter member of the Church of God of Prophecy at Tracy City and had worked at Monteagle Elementary School, the Library at Monteagle and the Grundy County Housing Authority.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Ann Hixson; son William Kilgore; brother, Carl (Shirley) Schoenmann of Winchester; sister-in-law, Joyce Shoenmann of Gallatin, TN; granddaughters, Crystal (Jordan) Johnson and LaSheena (Tyler) Davis;  great great grandchildren, Olivia and Oliver Johnson;  several loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon Tuesday in the Layne Funeral Home chapel in Palmer with Ministers, Red Cravens and L.E. Butler officiatng with burial to follow in the Browns Chapel Cemetery in Palmer, Tennessee. 

Visitation will be held 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM Monday at Cumberland Funeral Home, Monteagle, Tennessee. And 11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon Tuesday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee.
