Obituary of Bobby Franklin Hobbs

Altamont, Tennessee – Mr. Bobby Franklin Hobbs Sr., 86, passed away Monday January 20, 2020 at his home. He was born in McMinnville, Tennessee on March 12, 1933 to Doc Albert Hobbs and Lucy Myers Hobbs who preceded him in death along with his brothers, Jonah and Joe Hobbs; sisters, Gladys Hampton and Teresa Thomas. He was of the Baptist faith and had worked as a logger and sawmill worker. He loved being in the outdoors. He is survived by his wife, Katherine Hampton Hobbs; daughter, Janie (Charles ) Scott of Beersheeba Springs; sons, Bobby Franklin Hobbs Jr. and Troy Wade (Sharon) Hobbs of Altamont, Tennessee; 6 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday at Layne Funeral Home with Minister Dal Barrett officiating with burial to follow in the Little Johnny Myers Cemetery.
