Tracy City, Tennessee – Mr. Billy Ray Tate, 71, passed way Tuesday February 11, 2020 at STRHS-Sewanee Hospital. He was born in Coalmont, Tennessee on January 11, 1949 to Wilford Lynn Clyde Tate and Irene Nunley Tate who preceded him in death along with his brother, Raymond Tate; sisters, Janie Dykes and Betty Sue Turner.
He is survived by his son, Jimmy Eugene (Joyce) Tate; brothers, Harold (Vanessa) Tate, Frank Tate and Junior (Rhonda) Tate; sisters, Alphene (Robert) Nunley, Margaret Nell Downey and Shirley Parson; 5 grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers John Potts and Terry Winton officiating with burial to follow in the Bonnie Oaks Cemetery. Visitation: 12:00 Noon – 3:00 PM Wednesday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
