Obituary of James Duane Layne

Gruetli-Laager, Tennessee – Mr. James Duane “Jim” Layne, 55, passed away Thursday April 23, 2020 at his home after a battle with cancer. He was born in Riverton, Wyoming on September 20, 1964. He was preceded in death by his father, James Ed Layne and his brother, Brent Layne. Jim had worked in nurserys, at a local building supply and Exceptional Enterprise. He was most proud of being Jakes Daddy and Pa to Kyndrianna who he nick-named his “Boo-Boo”. Jim is survived by his wife of almost 35 years Karen Burnett Layne; son Jake Duane Layne and his wife, Donna Jo Layne; granddaughter, Kyndrianna Jace Layne; mother Irene Braden “Renie” Layne; sister, Donna Layne; brothers, Dan (Vickie) Layne and Bruce Layne; nieces and nephews, April, Hollie, Shane, Julie and Scotty; great nieces and nephews, Bryson, Ariel, Nakkia and Olivia. Funeral services with the family will be held 2:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home chapel with graveside services to follow for the public at the Fall Creek Cemetery with Minister Josh Layne officiating.
