GRUETLI-LAAGER - Mr. Vernon E. Johnson, 86, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2012. He was a United States Navy Veteran of WWII and attended Laager Methodist Church. He was born on December 22, 1925 to Fineas and Myrtle Harwood Johnson who preceded him in death along with his wife, Zora Johnson; son, Steve Allen Johnson; sisters, Frances Schlageter and Betty Roberts; brothers, Charles and Hershel Johnson. He is survived by his son, Phil (Brenda) Johnson; daughters, Barbara Ann (John) Stacey and Marilyn M. (Larry) Stone; 9 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Elbert Smith and Bro. Larry Campbell officiating with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemtery with Military Honors by Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard.
