Palmer - Mr. Leonard Layne, 80, passed away at his home Monday March 18, 2013. He was a member of Wesley Chapel Holiness Church, a Coal Miner and Welder. He was born in Palmer, Tennessee on December 19, 1932 to Frank and Edith Morton Layne who preceded him in death along with his granddaughter, Millie Mae Layne; brothers, Eckerd, Coleman and William Layne; sisters, Pearl King, Gladys Nolan, Nora Dyer and Flora Partin. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Troas Knowlan Layne; daughter, Wanda (Lee) Meeks; sons, Delbert (Millie), Tony (Mary), Doyle (Kellie) and Russell (Becky) Layne; sister, Edna (John) Frye; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Roger Boyd and Bro. Billy Bice officiating with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemetery. Visitation: 4:00 PM - 10:00 PM Tuesday and 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM Wednesday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
