Eileen Margaret Rogers

Eileen Rogers was born June 23, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan, and went to join the love of her life, James Rogers, in heaven on January 8, 2021.

Eileen spent most of her life acting as a caregiver to everyone around her, from her biological children to her adopted children to people she met without a family to call their own. Her passion for living things also extended to animals. Her dog Daisy, whom she lovingly referred to as Baby Dog, was her favorite companion for the last ten years. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years and an active member of the Salvation Army. She was a well-known prayer warrior and a force to be reckoned with. Eileen’s proudest accomplishments included raising three wonderful children, graduating from Mesa Community College with honors, and watching her family expand over the years.

She is preceded in death by her father David Tucker, mother Leila (Kitchen) Tucker, seven brothers and sisters, husband James Rogers, adopted daughter Patricia Soper, son-in-law David Taube, granddaughter Summer, grandson Christopher, and great-grandson Lincoln.

Those who survive her include her daughter Patricia (Rogers) Taube, son James Rogers and wife Ellen, daughter Pamela (Rogers) McBrien and husband John, and adopted son Timothy Soper. She also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren: Rachel (Taube) Fjellman and husband Samuel, with great-grandson Noah and great-granddaughter Morgan Eileen; Jennifer (Taube) Shimabuku and husband Johnathan; Jonathan Taube and wife Mona, with great-grandson Shepard and great-granddaughter Hadley; Jamison Taube; great-grandsons from the late Christopher: Christian, Lucas and Owen; James Rogers and wife Corryn, with great-granddaughters Eleanor and Jordyn and great-grandson Jude; Damaris (Rogers) Hipps and husband Ian, with great-granddaughter Bethany; Cameron Rockefeller; RJ King; Charese Borgerson, with great-granddaughter Cora; Ashley Rogers; Lindsay (Rogers) Renoth and husband Dustin, with great-granddaughter Everly; Kelly Rogers; and Lauren Borgerson. She is also survived by her sister Marilyn (Tucker) McDonald and husband Ray. These names only touch on the immediate family and loved ones who celebrate her life and mourn her departure. All who loved her dearly will remember her for her infectious laugh, love of all things purple, and the “flowerdy” dresses she frequently wore.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday January 16, 2021 in the funeral home chapel with Ministers John Potts and Daniel Crabtree officiating with burial to follow in the Coalmont Cemetery.  Visitation 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM Friday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
