Obituary of Joyce Winona Long

Gruetli-Laager - Mrs. Joyce Winona Long died peacefully in her sleep Saturday April 27, 2013. She was a member of the Church of Christ attending at Palmer and Gruetli. She attended the Gruetli-Laager Senior Center. She was born in Laager on July 4, 1928 to Doug and Mabel Henley Sweeton who preceded her in death along with her husband, James E. "Jim" Long; brothers, Charles, Bobby and J.C. Sweeton. Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Nelda and Brian Phillips, Jasper and Jimmy and Kathy Long, Gruetli-Laager; grandchildren, Brian (Nichole) Phillips Jr., Heather Phillips Friant and Sheena (Joey) Long Thomas; 7 great grandchildren, Caity, Sydney, Jacob, Javon, Zach, Jack and Tiara; several nieces and nephews. Graveside Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at the Fall Creek Cemetery with Bro. Phillip Fults officiating. The family would like to thank the staff at The Terrace of Mountain Creek Road and Hospice of Chattanooga. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga or the charity of your choice.
