Obituary of Mildred Pollard Layne

VALLEY HEAD, AL - Mrs. Mildred P. "Tootsie" Layne, 84, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021. She was born on Signal Mountain, TN on June 7, 1936 to Ivor Lee and Lena Mae Norris Johnson who preceded her in death along with her husband, Paul Edward Layne; sons, Johnny Leon and Sterling "Little Man" Pollard; brothers, James and Kenneth Johnson; sisters, Ethel King, Mae Johnson and Betty Bowman. 

She is survived by her daughters, Doris A. Layne, Dora (Ronald) Hicks, Charlene (Jodi) Schafer and Darlene Pollard (John Sharp); 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Willard Griffin officiating with burial to follow in the Griffiths Creek Cemetery. 

Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM Friday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN
