We are saddened to hear of Jimmy's passing, our hearts and prayers go out to the family, friends, and loved who had the privilege to know this man. We only met him last year when he opened his BBQ restaurant and that one meeting was all it took. He always made us feel like family and as if we had known one another our whole lives. He was truly a shining star in this old world. Jimmy you will be truly missed. The Barbee's

I am so very sorry for the loss of our brother, father, husband, mentor and friend.
Jim was a big personality and his absence will leave a vacuum in the lives of so many who knew and loved him.
Along with that big personality came a big heart! I have heard quite a few stories told, not by Jim but by others, of how he would help someone he saw in need. I know it made him happy to be able to do so.
Jim and I were "summertime cousins", that is he and his family lived out of state and we would get together whenever they came back to Tennessee to visit family, usually on summer break.
We'd get together as boys and it would be B-B guns and tin cans, learning a few chords on guitar, or walking thru Coalmont to end up at Creighton's store for a 'cold drink'.
Childhood memories.
So Jim and Ellen came back home to Tennessee and thanks to them we got to have a couple of more 'cold drinks' at that little store again, but not enough, not near enough.
He and I were just saying a little bit ago that we were going to spend more time together and maybe learn a couple of more chords on those old guitars.
Our hearts are broken ole buddy.
Ellen and family I am praying for your comfort with the belief that we will all get together again someday.
God Bless,
Jim Sartain
